I was born April 2nd 1970 in Hammond IN. I grew up outside Chicago IL where my dad served as a Southern Baptist minister. My father Alvin Johnson is my hero and my mother Latrica Johnson is a great woman of God. At the age of ten I gave my heart and life to Jesus Christ. At the age of sixteen I surrendered to God's call to serve him in full time ministry. After graduating from high school I attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar MO. In 1993 I graduated with a BA in Religious Education. After graduating from college I was called as Minister of Youth to Trinity Baptist Church in Naperville IL. While serving the Lord there I met my wife Tanya and we were married July 15 1995. Tanya is the love of my life and my main support in my ministry. We have four daughters Catilin, Hannah, Camryn and Brooke. I fully understand that my greatest calling is to be a husband and father to my beautiful wife and children.
 Since 1993 I have served as Minister of Youth, Minister of Children, Associate Pastor and Chaplin ministry. I have been humbled by the way God has used me in ministry and the ways he has stretched me as a man of God. Only Christ holds the power to change the hearts and lives of people. So my challenge is to remain at the feet of Jesus and point others to him! If we as a church family seek to truly follow Jesus and have a faith that impacts lives other than our own … we will bring glory to God. I am honored to serve as Family Pastor here at Mountain View Baptist Church.
